I'll be honest, this book was harder to get into than the first two Ketty Jay books, but the last quarter of the book had me riveted. Worth the read!
TIJ reads more like a series of short stories than a novel. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but some of the episodes Woodling writes much more strongly than others. His characters develop in meaningful ways, although for most it doesn't one until the end. This is a stronger book than the last series in the entry, and I look forward to Woodling's next work.
This book is a great addition to the series, fun, funny in the right places, if you enjoy the series this installment won't disappoint
Bit of a pulpy romp

Not too serious, easy to read. A bit like firefly with the crew accidentally finding themselves in the middle of epic adventures with world changing consequences
I love the Chris Wooding Ketty Jay series so I am already a bit more than biased with this book, however, if you've been flowing the series you will not be let down.

Chris delivers again with a crazy back and fourth adventure of usual as the crew and captain Frey get into all sorts of uncounted for troubles that continue to grow as the book evolves. This book felt darker than the others and went in some different directions than the previous. You'll of course be rooting for thee crew as they have various air and land skirmishes fighting their way in and out of the many places they must visit. Its always fun seeing what they will get themselves into.

The usual wit and charm is back and I cant help but love every book so far for its own reasons.

I was certainly pleased with the interesting plot line and following my favorites characters on yet another adventure, I am eagerly awaiting the last book!
Get this series. I'm not going to review it, but I will say if you like involved stories and great character development this is a great book. To me it is a little "Steampunk" if you are familiar with the genre, but I'm not sure if that is what the author was going for or not. Either way it doesn't matter, just think other world fiction and let the author paint you the picture--he does a fantastic job.
Very hard to put down. lots of action,excitement, and character development. Ready for the next one now - it has me hooked.
